November Business Office Calendar

It is all about YOUR LEVY… Check your dates, Run your numbers, Prepare your board for PTELL and the CPI data for THIS Levy and also prepare them for NEXT year as well. For those in Cook County… Talk with your legal team and other surrounding districts for EAV numbers and how they are handling the issue of “Lack of Data and Information.”
Think about getting your Micro Credential in the Tax Levy…  if you joined with a Free Micro Credential paid for… it is pretty easy to put your items in a folder and start submitting for either 20 hours of PD credit… OR your Administrative Academy Credit and 6 hours of PD credit!  Email Rebecca Anderson for more information at IASBO!

 

  • November 1 – Annual Report of Unclaimed Property (State Treas. UPD601) is filed with the State Treasurer’s office.
  • November 2 – Special Education Summer School Claim submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education (105 ILCS 5/18-4.3).  File on IWAS.
  • November 2– Summer claims for orphanage students submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education (105 ILCS 5/17-7.03).
  • November 9 – Election Day
  •  November 14 – Revisions to the 2018-19 Annual Pupil Transportation Claim are due.
  • November 15 – Limitation of administrative costs worksheet filed with the Illinois State Board of Education (105 ILCS 5/17-1.5).  The report is to list the actual administrative expenditures for the prior year from the district’s audited Annual Financial Report (AFR) and projected administrative expenditures for the current year from the budget adopted by the school board.  This report is attached to and usually filed with the AFR. 
  • November 15 – Creditable Coverage Notification:  The Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) requires employers who sponsor a health insurance plan to disclose to all Medicare eligible individuals the creditable or non-creditable coverage status of their current prescription drug benefits (42 CRF §423.56(f)).  Additional information, including model notices, can be found on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) web site at: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/CreditableCoverage/ 
  • November 15 – Child Nutrition Program verification process ends.
  • Check for Virtual listings for Professional Development on line in lieu of  IASB, IASA, & IASBO Joint Annual Conference in Chicago.

  • (School Year 2024) 11/02/2023: ISTAR and Special Education - Data corrections window for Summer Term Orphanage Claims is open - Review student approval error reports and make necessary corrections. Make sure all students are entered into I-Star in preparation for the Dec. 1 Child Count.
  • (School Year 2023) 11/03/2023: Student Information System (SIS) - ISBE Sends ACCESS Pre-ID Label File sent to Vendor - ISBE sends the demographic and Pre-ID information to ACCESS Vendor for Testing
  • (School Year 2024) 11/10/2023: Student Information System (SIS) - Fall Enrollment data Deadline - Fall enrollment data must be submitted for Fall Enrollment reporting and Report Card enrollment
  • (School Year 2024) 11/10/2023: Student Information System (SIS) - Eligible for Immigrant Education Program data due and Extracted from SIS for funding eligibility and allocation calculations - ISBE extracts the Immigrant data from SIS for purposes of funding
  • (School Year 2024) 11/10/2023: Student Information System (SIS) - Service Provider data (IDEA Services only) due - Updated Service Provider if needed. Only for IDEA Services Student enrollments.
  • (School Year 2024) 11/10/2023: Student Information System (SIS) - Student Addresses (IDEA Services only) due -  ISBE accepts and encourages all student address data to be entered into SIS – but it is only required for IDEA services. Addresses are used by the Special Education division for student Mailings. Addresses should continue to be updated throughout the year.

Meet with your staff and make sure all of your reports are covered and there is a lead person working on the reports, gathering the data and having a second person check the data prior to submission to the state!
