Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, school districts, administrators, teachers and staff began to rethink educational pedagogy, instructional practices and the physical environment of school buildings.

In March 2020, school districts across the country closed their school buildings, transitioned to fully remote teaching and learning and remained uneasy about the future or when some level of normalcy would return.
