Making Sense of Employee Leaves

Employee leaves… they seem so simple, yet COVID-19 has proven that leaves are anything but easy to navigate. Before COVID-19, when someone needed a leave, they requested it and it was either granted or not. The pandemic has added layers of complexity, with collective bargaining agreements, ever–changing statutory leaves and the uniqueness of each situation.
As we emerge into a (hopefully) post-COVID-19 world, it is imperative that we look back and learn, grow and establish practices and procedures to navigate our new challenges, including those related to employee leaves.
