The Illinois Association of School Business Officials is devoted to the school business management profession. Our mission is to provide our members and stakeholders with a comprehensive range of professional development activities, services and advocacy through networking and participation.

The Board of Directors guide the Association and ensures continued relevance to the school business profession. They represent the voice of the membership and keep members informed of key initiatives and issues.

How does Board service work?

Directors serve a three year term beginning in July each year, with three new Directors being elected each year to fill the nine member Board. The position of President is filled by automatic succession of the President Elect into that post; as is the position of President Elect by automatic succession of the Treasurer in that post.

Strategic Plan Goals

Part of the ongoing role of the Board is to work on the strategic plan for the Association. The following is a compilation of their current goals.

Illinois ASBO will:

  • Enhance and expand its partnerships and educate and empower our members to sustain our advocacy vision.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage association resources and offer a variety of programs that support school districts and individual members. Illinois ASBO will promote awareness of how the programs and the Foundation benefits members.
  • Enhance member and nonmember participation, knowledge, engagement and value.
  • Provide high-quality professional development statewide.
  • Assess and develop new measures to maintain and enhance high quality Governance between the Board of Directors and the Illinois ASBO staff.

Illinois ASBO Alumni Club 

The Illinois ASBO Alumni Club honors the lasting contributions of our former Directors and keeps them connected to the organization. Alumni Club members enjoy exclusive networking opportunities and branded Alumni Club merchandise as a token of appreciation for their service.


Eligibility: Any individual who has completed a three-year term as an Illinois ASBO Director is automatically invited to join.
