  • Each participant filling out a survey instrument ahead of the event (they receive a full report of their individual results at the event).
  • Group interaction over the course of a one-day facilitation by Illinois ASBO.
  • A framework for future interaction amongst team members to promote further bonding and growth.
  • 6.5 hours of Administrator Academy credit for each participant.

Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI®) Academy

The Leadership Practice Inventory is the most widely used 360-degree leadership assessment tool available today. Through this analysis, leaders gain perspective into how they see themselves as leaders, how others view them and what actions they can take to improve their effectiveness.

Engaging in the LPI experience generates positive outcomes for organizations looking to build a common language and vision around goals and values. Participation together with your team creates a climate of trust that fosters innovation and creativity as well as enhanced collaboration and bottom-line results!

This academy takes place over two half-day sessions and includes:

  • A 360-degree LPI-Self instrument and LPI-Observer survey instrument (filled out by peers, direct reports and supervisors) to be completed in advance.
  • Data facilitation by Illinois ASBO, teaching participants how to read the reports and drill down the data to identify gaps in what they believe they are doing versus how others perceive them. This is powerful introspective leadership tool!
  • The opportunity to dialogue with team members about results in an open environment, set goals and report on progress.
  • Nine hours of Administrator Academy credit for each participant.

MBTI® Administrator Academy

Help your team become more effective leaders by understanding their unique personality type and how their preferred style relates to their ability to communicate, make decisions, lead, change and manage conflict.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) is one of the most widely known and recognized personality assessments, creating a common language to help members of your team understand themselves and each other. Participants will walk away with a leadership development plan to enhance their abilities.

This full-day academy includes:

  • A Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment to be completed in advance.
  • Facilitation by Illinois ASBO, using interpretive reports to help participants recognize how parts of their personality type work together to enhance or inhibit personal productivity and effectiveness.
  • Interactive exercises that help team members better understand each other.
  • Six hours of Administrator Academy credit for each participant.

Leading Yourself, Leading Others
and Leading Your Boss

This full-day academy is designed to develop and provide insight into administrators’ behavioral leadership skills through analysis and assessment of what relational skills are needed to lead yourself, others and your boss. The behavioral assessment matrix has been developed and copyrighted by Steve Treacy of Steve Treacy & Associates.

  •  Participants will analyze the task maturity behavior of both direct reports and their boss. They will then identify an appropriate leadership style to pair with their assessment. The correlation of the leadership style to the task behavior will enable the participant to develop an action plan to take in the relationship; ultimately leading to improved communication and leadership outcomes.
  • Participants will assess their own purpose and mission in how they lead themselves and will build improved leadership of self into their action plan on how to lead others and achieve better outcomes for themselves and for their school districts.
  • Participants will earn six hours of Administrator Academy credit.

Participants will leave the session with a repertoire of strategies and insights that they can apply immediately in their own workplace contexts.

Each academy covers a series of chapters from the book, Learning From Lincoln.

Participants will earn 6.5 hours of Administrator Academy credit.
