Can school districts still use cooperative purchasing? The combination of the School Code and the Joint Purchasing Act has led to some recent confusion over this question. To address the issue, Illinois ASBO Executive Director/CEO Dr. Jacoby joined lawyers Ken Florey and Howard Metz to dig into these two statutes and what is currently permissible for districts.

Illinois ASBO's Vision for Advocacy is to be the foremost knowledgeable voice for promoting sound school business practices to the Illinois Legislature, ISBE and other state policymakers. We work together with other school management organizations in Illinois to advocate for schools in Springfield. Illinois ASBO members benefit from email updates on legislative issues as well as the opportunity to get involved in the legislative process.
