Program Requirements

- Illinois ASBO Membership (recommended)
- Supervisor Approval
- Complete 35 professional development clock hours over a two-year period:
15 hours: Three required conferences (Bookkeepers, one day of the Annual Conference and SupportCon)
10 hours: Two stand-alone Support Professionals full-day seminars
5 hours: Two stand-alone Support Professionals half-day seminars 
5 hours: Electives (including webinars, seminars, etc.)


Joining the Support Professionals Program is easy!

  1. Download the Support Professionals Program brochure.

  2. Obtain the support of your supervisor.

  3. Send in your application (required) & payment of Illinois ASBO membership (encouraged).

  4. Attend events and continue to learn!

Track Your Progress

lllinois ASBO will track progress and notify you of upcoming seminars that will assist in earning points in the program.

You are also encouraged to track your progress with the Program Checklist.

Successful completion of this program will be recognized at the next SupportCon with a certificate of completion signed by Illinois ASBO’s Board President.

The cost of membership is only $100. This means that if you attend at least two events annually, your membership has more than already paid for itself in reduced registration costs. An application or confirmed graduation of the Support Professionals Program is required for this membership.
